Thanks for a Fantastic Finish!
A huge thanks to Eric Hendricks, STP Finish Line Coordinator, for overseeing our club’s management of the 2024 Finish Line!
Thank you to TEAM LEADERS this year Ann Morrow, Chip Kyle, Cindy Bernert-Coppola, Corey Eng, Dan Larkins, Dave McQuery, Dick Weber, Joel Loh, Kathleen Hellem, Peter Kokopeli, and Scott Poindexter who spent long days at the park!
Thanks to Maria Sworske who took on a new role as event photographer this year and filled in, as needed, here and there! Thank you to our official floaters Tom Carter, Jan Oestereich, and Kat Kogan.
Thank you to our Skyview High School student volunteers and their coaches. They bring energy, strength, and speed to tasks that is a tremendous contribution to the success of our Finish Line!
Thanks also to the Friday/Monday storage unit crew Todd Miller, Doug Myers, Steve Demarest, to the storage unit van driver Corey Eng (all four days), and to the storage unit advisor Alan Coppola. And thank you to the Friday/Monday team Dave McQuery and Scott Poindexter who marked the route and posted signs on Friday, and then retrieved them on Monday – in addition to being team leaders on Saturday and Sunday. ✎
THANK YOU, EVERYONE!!!! We appreciate all our volunteers who signed up for one shift…or more! The club had 100% of the volunteer slots filled for the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic Finish Line. Thanks to the handful of volunteers who came and hadn’t even signed up to volunteer – just for the fun of it! A special thanks to those who came early for their shifts or stayed late – just because they couldn’t get enough! Finally, thank you to those who took the time to write to talk about volunteering, to express interest in volunteering, or to say that they wanted to volunteer but had a conflict that would keep them away. I know there were those who were helping in spirit even though they couldn’t be there. The Finish Line is an exciting place to be, no doubt about it!

Lynn Blanchard, STP Volunteer Coordinator
