Will You Win?

Most of you are aware that our club earns money by coordinating the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic finish line for Cascade Bicycle Club. We volunteer, work hard, and get financial compensation that benefits all of us.

Several years ago, we negotiated with Cascade Bicycle Club to also receive two free passes to one of their other event rides, RSVP (Ride from Seattle to Vancouver [BC] and Party). We have a 2023 contract with that clause in it and want YOU, our club members, to have a chance to win. This is just one of the perks of membership. You help your club, you support your club, you like to ride a bicycle. Take a chance and have an adventure.

Details: It’s a fun ride, but it’s not STP. Only 191 miles, but more elevation gain than STP. The dates are Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27. The value is $180 per registration (the price goes up to $200 on June 1). Obviously, riders must be in cycling shape; this ride is a little more challenging than STP.

There are expenses: Typically, you stay in a motel in Bellingham and Vancouver, BC. You need to get back to Seattle from Vancouver (bus and bike is $100), and there is dining out. In the past, your car could stay for free at the University of Washington if you drove to the start – may still be true… Also, a passport, a real ID, or an enhanced driver’s license will be necessary.

Only those interested and able should enter the raffle at our PBC meeting on June 1. Come and enter, or you will not win! Must be present to win.
